Is a Secondary Account Safe? An Honest Guide

Secondary is the lowest-priced way to play many PS5 and PS4 games at Aguee, and it is also the option people ask about most. Is it safe? Can it stop working? This guide explains plainly how Secondary works, what you give up compared with Primary, the real risks, and how to decide whether it suits you.

What a Secondary account is

When you buy a game account, you do not get a code for your own PlayStation account. You receive the sign-in details of a PlayStation account that already owns the game, and you add it to your console as a new user. With Secondary, your console is not set as that account's primary console, so the game only runs while you are signed in to that account and connected to the internet. You play from the Aguee account's profile.

Primary works differently: your console is set as the account's primary console, so every profile on it, including your own, can play the game, even offline. That is the main reason Primary costs more.

How Secondary differs from Primary

  • •Who can play: with Secondary, only the Aguee account profile; with Primary, every profile on your console.
  • •Internet: Secondary needs a connection to start and play; Primary also works offline.
  • •Price: Secondary is the lower-priced option for the same full game.
  • •Consoles: Secondary needs no console activation, so it works on any PS5.

Real limits you should know about

  • •You play on the Aguee profile, not your own. Trophies are earned on that profile and your saved progress is stored there, not on your personal PlayStation account.
  • •No internet, no game. If your connection or the PlayStation Network is down, a Secondary game will not start.
  • •The account is not yours. You must not change its email, password or security settings.
  • •The same game account is also used by other buyers on their own consoles. That sharing is what makes the lower price possible.
  • •A PS4 account cannot be moved to PS5, and a PS5 account cannot be moved to PS4.

The honest risks

Sony's account rules are written for one person per account, and sharing an account is not something those rules are designed around. That means there is always a risk that Sony acts on an account, for example by forcing a password reset or restricting it. We cannot promise this will never happen, and nobody can honestly promise that.

Other problems you may run into are simpler: a sign-in that asks for verification, the account being signed out on your console, or a setting changed by mistake. These are the cases support is there for.

The store's policy is that every account comes with a warranty: if a problem happens while you follow the usage rules, the team fixes or replaces it at no extra cost.

Tips if you choose Secondary

  • •Never change the account email, password or two-step settings, even if your console suggests it.
  • •Keep the account signed in on your console and play from its profile.
  • •Use the account on one console, as the store recommends.
  • •If you see a sign-in prompt, an error or a message about the account, contact us on WhatsApp before trying to fix it yourself.
  • •Read the product page before paying: it shows which options are available for that game right now, plus its region, size and languages.

Who should pick Secondary, and who should not

Secondary is a good fit if you always have internet, play alone on one profile and want the lowest price. Choose Primary instead if several people in your home play, if you often play offline, or if you want progress and trophies on your own profile. If you are still unsure, support can help you choose on WhatsApp before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Secondary account stop working?

It can stop if your console loses internet, if you sign out of the account, or if the account details change. If it stops while you follow the usage rules, contact us on WhatsApp; the store's warranty covers fixing or replacing it at no extra cost.

Can I play a Secondary game on my own profile?

No. With Secondary you play from the Aguee account's profile. Only Primary lets the other profiles on your console play.

Is Secondary cheaper than Primary?

Yes. Secondary is the lower-priced option for the same full game. Each product page shows the current price of every option that is available.

Can I change the password to keep the account safe?

No. Do not change the email or password. The account is managed by Aguee, changing its details can break access, and the warranty applies to accounts used under the usage rules.
